Nayon ng Kabataan (NK)

NK is a national welfare center for children with special situated at Welfareville Compound, Mandaluyong City

problems. Their ages range from 7 to 17 years old male and female who are abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned, exploited, maltreated, vagrant, behaviorally disturbed and street children. The school serves the educational needs of the children who are mentally, emotionally, socially and physically prepared to be integrated in a regular school in the community.

Bagong Sinag Special School (BSSS)

BSSS serves the educational needs of the improved mentally ill, mentally handicapped and emotionally disturbed children and youth of NCMH, Zonta & Shangrila Pavilion. Most of the clients are of school age, unschooled and school dropouts.

Their present illness impedes them to attend the regular school program. The special education program necessitates to serve the clients to prepare their re-entry to a mainstreamed education while they are confined in the hospital for treatment. While others who can’t attend to such program will be prepared for smooth transition from a hospital life upon their discharge from the hospital.

Jose Fabella Center (JFC)

JFC has a long-established history of helping people in transient situations. It started as a temporary shelter and custodial care for unattached elderly in 1954 and became a Beggars’ Home in 1964. In 1970, it was eventually renamed as the Jose Fabella Center.

Molave Youth Home (MYH)

MYH is a detention center for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL) of Quezon City who are 9-17 years old waiting disposition of their cases pending in court. While these children are waiting for their cases to be resolved, an educational program is being organized for them.

Located in La Loma, Quezon City, the home provides temporary and secure custody and care for youth who have pending cases in court so as to remove them from the unwholesome atmosphere of a jail. Likewise it provides a setting for treatment and rehabilitation. Furthermore, it affords the youth a respectable and honey atmosphere to help them regain their self-respect and thereby facilitate their eventual release.

Department of Health Treatment Rehabilitation Center (DOH TRC)

DOH-TRC in Bicutan, Taguig City, was created in 1986 through the initiative of former principal Dr. Ignacio N. Alcantara and Col. Vidal.

This special institution is catering to the educational and rehabilitation needs of students under the drug rehabilitation center. The school offers high school program; in addition to the academic offerings, it also offers vocational and sports programs for the clients.

Create Responsive Infants By Sharing (CRIBS)

CRIBS is a private non-profit organization implementing programs for children and families in especially difficult circumstances.

It started in 1974 by two (2) Lutheran missionary wives who brought home two (2) infants from the Reception and Study Child Center of the Department of Social Welfare and Development. This was the first volunteer home in the Philippines. Supporting CRIBS was a growing network of volunteers from all walks of life contributing their time, expertise and resources.

In 1979, CRIBS was incorporated with the Security and Exchange Commission as a non-stock, non-profit organization managed by a board of trustees committed to its organizational growth and development.

In 1983, CRIBS Philippines Incorporated was licensed by the DSWD as a child welfare agency for abandoned, neglected and surrendered infants

In 1986, CRIBS opened its home to sexually abused female minors under the New Beginnings Program.

Special Learning Center (SLC)

SLC formally opened its door to some selected special pupils on June 1, 1999. These special pupils came from different mental retardation, children with autism and cerebral palsy.

This center became possible through the group of parents whose initiative was to have a school for their special children

Healing Pathway Foundation (HPF)

HPF (formerly DDB-EU-TRC (Dangerous Drug Board-European Union Treatment and Rehabilitation Center) is a government institution primarily serving drug dependents which started July 1, 1992 as a three-year pilot project funded by the European Union (EU) and proposed by key officials of the DDB in Port Area Manila notably Atty. Manuel M. Supnet, Dr. Rey M. San Pedro, Mrs. Sofia Q. Quejas, Dra. Lilia R. Mabanag.

The center-based processing facility that provides temporary home for drug dependents. Clients are mostly high school dropouts and professionals. Lessons are mostly based on group dynamics using adult learning program. Values orientation is the core of the curriculum.

Elsie Gaches Village (EGV)

EGV provides temporary home for moderately retarded children. The children served by this special school are moderately mentally retarded the children are not capable of assimilating the subject areas prescribed for normal children in the regular school. There is a separate school building where classes are being held from morning to afternoon.

Programs are Self-Help Skills; Communication skills; Social Skills and Sensory and Motor Skills. The center also offers vocational programs for adult learners.

National Training School for Girls (NTSG)

NTSG serves as a temporary shelter for girls and young women who are in crisis, coping with trauma of sexual abuse, maltreatment, sexual exploitation, unwanted pregnancy.

The school offers elementary and high school education. It also offers Technology and Livelihood Education like baking, pastry and macaroons making, stuff toys, preparatory for their discharge.

Haven for Children (HC)

HC is a national welfare center for children with special problems. Their ages range from 7 to 17 years old male and female who are abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned, exploited, maltreated, vagrant, behaviorally disturbed and street children.

The school serves the educational needs of the children who are mentally, emotionally, socially and physically prepared to be integrated in a regular school in the community. The children are educationally retarded due to poverty, low mental ability, and physically handicapped. Children in this institution have low socio-economic status and are socially, economically, and emotionally deprived.


National Training School for Boys (NTSB)

NTSB is a youth caring center, primarily established to care, protect, train, rehabilitate and promote the interest and welfare of the male youth offenders with ages over 15 years old and below 18 years old. It offers elementary, high school and vocational programs.

Formerly known as the Reformatory for Boys then located in Lolomboy, Bocaue, Bulacan. By virtue of Commonwealth Act. No.3203, it was transferred to Welfareville compound, Mandaluyong, Rizal on November 23, 1935 and became known as the Philippine Training School for Boys (PTSB) under the supervision and administration of the then office of the Public Welfare Commission.

With the decentralization of the institution under the Integrated Social Welfare Program of the government in 1968, the PTSB was subsequently named Molave Village.

It was transferred to its present site in Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal, on November 29, 1969. The institution was renamed Vicente Madrigal Rehabilitation Center (VMRC) from 1969 up to 1980 when it was again renamed National Training School for Boys.
